Altify is officially named the KPMG Private Enterprise Tech Innovator for Southern Africa for 2025.

It is a massive milestone for our team. But more importantly, it is external validation that the technology we are building for you — our investors — is world-class.

The Long Road to Number One

This wasn’t an overnight win.

Back in 2021, we were finalists in this same competition. We came close, but we didn’t win. We took that feedback, put our heads down, and focused on shipping better product.

Four years later, the result was different.

After a rigorous judging process against some of the region's sharpest startups, Altify took the top spot. The judges recognised our work in Real World Asset (RWA) tokenisation not just as a concept, but as a working solution that is making private markets accessible to everyone.

Why it Matters: Erasing the Line

For decades, the investment landscape has been split in two.

On one side, you have the public stock market: fast, liquid, and easy. On the other, you have private markets: opaque, manual, and locked behind high fees and higher minimums. Real wealth generation was often reserved for the ultra-wealthy who had the "financial superpowers" to access private equity and credit.

We built Altify to erase that line.

Our mission is simple: to make investing in alternative assets as easy as buying Apple shares or shopping online.

We are using infrastructure — not jargon — to remove the friction. We are replacing the slow, paper-heavy processes of traditional private banks with a digital-first platform. This allows us to offer products that were previously out of reach, like private credit and structured products, with significantly lower minimums.

The End Goal

We aren't just trying to make alternatives accessible. Our vision is to make the term "Alternative Investment" obsolete.

In ten years, there shouldn’t be "Public" vs "Private" markets. It should just be investing.

We are building a future where investing in private equity is mechanically identical to buying a public stock. 

Winning this award confirms that the industry sees where the future is going, and they recognise that Altify is the platform building the tracks to get there.

The Global Stage: Web Summit

Winning the regional leg meant one thing: we were off to Lisbon, Portugal, to represent Southern Africa at the global finals.

The stage was Web Summit.

If you haven’t heard of it, Web Summit is essentially the Olympics of the tech world. It is Europe’s largest technology conference, gathering over 70,000 attendees and the biggest companies on the planet.

It is where the future gets discussed, debated, and built.

Standing on that stage wasn't just about Altify. It was proof that fintech innovation coming out of Southern Africa can stand toe-to-toe with anything coming out of Silicon Valley or London.

Seeing the Altify mission light up billboards in Times Square during the competition period was a surreal moment for the team — and a reminder of how far we have come.
